Reeling under long power cuts, people have taken to humorous messages over social networking websites and mobile messaging applications to vent their ire against the state government.

“The surplus electricity is no more, the antim ardas will be on Sunday, RIP electricity”. Such messages are doing the rounds on mobile phones and social media these days.

Social media like Facebook, Twitter and mobile groups on mobile messing application WhatsApp groups are flooded with sarcastic jokes on electricity in people’s bid to share their woes with others.

Anjali Verma, a student, said, “I received a picture message in which Google was searching ‘ light kadon aayegi (when will power resume). If Google could actually search this, it would be the mostsearched question.”

A businessman, Ankit, said, “Unlike earlier, now I read every message sent on electricity, as it helps me realise that I am not suffering alone.” He added that the government should take these jokes seriously, because they actually reflected the public’s harassment.
