Ludhiana youth stabbed to death, residents vandalise buses

Hundreds of Ambedkar Nagar residents took to the streets today and vandalised few buses near bus stand after one of the youth residing in the area was stabbed to death late last night.


The victim, Shammi Kumar, 23, was visiting his sister's house in Jawahar Nagar Camp area when the incident took place.

According to the information, he was killed due to personal enmity.

Around 11.45 pm, one of the many accused called him up and asked to come outside where he was waiting with 5-6 other accused. The moment Shammi came outside, he was stabbed to death.

Following his death, the residents have been protesting since morning and even blocked the Bharat Nagar Chowk, which has paralysed the city. The protestors demand immediate arrest of all the accused.

Heavy police have been deployed in the area to control the situation.
