Man booked for abducting girl on pretext of marriage

The local police have booked a resident of Tibba Road for allegedly abducting a 13-year-old girl on the pretext of marriage.


Darshan Singh Rana, a resident of Namdev Colony, in his complaint to the Jodhewal police station, alleged that Gurpreet Singh, who was known to his daughter, had abducted her on the pretext of marriage.

A case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366A (procreation of minor girl) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.

The police have initiated investigation to trace the missing girl.
