Man booked for attempt to rape

The Basti Jodhewal police registered a case of attempt to rape against a man on Friday. The police launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused, but he is at large.


The accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar, 28 of Shakti Nagar. In his complaint, father of the victim said, his 4 years old daughter was sleeping on the roof of the labor quarter on Thursday late with her mother. The accused went on the roof he took the girl along with him and tried to outrage her modesty.

Alerted by screams of the girl, when they tried to nab the accused he jumped over the wall and fled.Inspector Balwinder Singh, SHO at police station Basti Jodhewal said the police launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
