There is a ray of hope for the toy train at Rakh Bagh as MC officials' claim suggests that it would be repaired and run again soon.

Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, additional commissioner and chief of horticulture wing, said that there was a plan to repair the toy train as there was a demand for the same.

"We have a plan to repair the toy train at Rakh Bagh that is lying in a shambles for a long time," said Jarangal.

He said that the toy train would be a great attraction for children of the city who would visit the park.

Residents of the city used to visit Rakh Bagh along with their children who rode it with excitement.

But after 2005 the toy train developed a snag and since then it is lying in a shambles. The number of visitors to Rakh Bagh has also reduced significantly as a result the MC is now planning to repair the train.

However, such claims had been made earlier also but no action was taken to repair the train.

The MC had plans to repair the train for the first time in 2010 and then in 2011, but every time the claims did not meet the reality.

Interestingly, Jarangal has held meetings with the officials concerned and asked them regarding the difficulties coming in repairing the toy train.

According to information, some parts of the train were imported from England, which led to a snag in the vehicle.

A senior MC official said that the tourism department of the state had planned to upgrade Rakh Bagh and repair the train. "But no action has been taken so far and the train is still lying in a shambles," the official said.
