Members demanded the MC to end the solid waste system and recruit more employees. They also raised their voice against the corruption in MC.

A senior member of the committee, Lovely Pal, said the government should recruit more sanitary workers, besides, regularising the contractual employees.

“We are also demanding to pay pensions to those, who have applied for pension,” he said.

During the protest, another member KC Gupta said, “The MC authorities should take extreme steps, so that no sewer suffers any problem after entering into the manhole. They should provide safety kits to the sewer men.”
