Rural pharmacists and class four employees have decided to mark protest against the chief minister during the state-level Independence Day ceremony in Patiala on August 15.

The members of Rural Health Pharmacists Action Committee and class 4 employees working under zila parishads have been demanding to regularise their posts and also demanded to hike their salaries.
Gurmeet Singh, convener of the committee, said, “We have been working with very low salaries for the last 8 years. We had staged protests last year but after getting assurance from the state government we ended our protest.”

“Now we will stage protests as nothing was done so far by the government,” he added.

The pharmacists get only `7,000 as salary while the class four employees get `3,000 per month, he noted.
