Police crack whip on eve-teasers

The police have cracked the whip against miscreants that tease girls outside schools and colleges on Tuesday and slammed challans. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (city-1) Nilambari V Jagdale led the drive.


The ADCP said that the department had learnt that some youths, used to taunt the girls in the morning, when the colleges started and in the afternoon when the colleges ended.

He added that the drive was started to teach such miscreants a lesson.
SHOs of police station and police post in charges had put up special nakas near girls colleges and schools.

The police checked 120 vehicles during the drive; 33 vehicles were challaned and four vehicles were impounded for not carrying proper documents.

ADCP said the police would continue action against such offenders.
