PU's MCom entrance test result declared

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, declared the entrance test result for MCom business innovations admissions at SCD Government College Ludhiana on Saturday.

A total of 166 students appeared for the entrance examination and 104 qualified it. There are 40 seats in course in the college. As per the result, gazettee issued by the Panjab University, Harmanpreet Singh has got first position by scoring 47.75 marks, while, Gunjit Kaur Trehan got second position with 46.75 marks and Ashrawi Jain came third with 45.50 marks.
The qualified students now have to apply for admission to the course at SCD Government College Ludhiana till July 13.

Thereafter, final merit list will be prepared on the basis of 50% weightage of entrance test and 50% weightage of marks in the qualifying examination.

The final merit list will be displayed on the college campus on July 15 (evening) and the counseling for will be held on July 16. College principal Rajinder Singh said only those students would be considered for admission who would submit their admission forms in the office of the principal SCD Government College Ludhiana by 2 pm on July 13.

It is pertinent that MCom business innovations is a University Grants Commission (UGC) approved professional programme in which has interdisciplinary and industry-oriented approach focusing on research and placement. Singh said, "As the course is financed by the UGC the college will charge nominal fee of Rs. 3,700 per year. MCom business innovations is a highly innovative programme and appreciating its success, the department of higher education government of Punjab, has expressed its desire to start this course in other government colleges of the state. Presently, the course is available only in SCD Government College, Ludhiana."
