Three days after the body of 18-year-old Sachin Gupta was recovered from his neighbour's house in Basant Avenue, Dugri, the police on Friday formally arrested four occupants of the house.

The arrested accused are owner of the house, Davinder Singh Arora alias Goldy, his wife, Chetna alias Harleen Kaur, his mother, Inderjit Kaur, and their domestic help, Hari Prasad alias Gabbar alias Chhotu. The police are yet to arrest Davinder's father Manjit Singh Arora.

Though police were suspecting only Chhotu initially, after investigation, the police arrested three members of the family, besides Chhotu.

Police commissioner Ishwar Singh said the police would disclose development in the case after verifying the facts.

Though the police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the murder, sources said the accused had kidnapped and killed Sachin for money.
The Arora family run a real estate office, a play way school, tuitions and dance and karate classes from their house.

According to sources, the Arora family was debt-ridden, and to improve their financial standing, they hatched a conspiracy to kidnap Sachin. The family was aware that Gupta family had a brisk business and could arrange Rs. 50 lakh easily, they added.

As part of their conspiracy, the accused made a call to Sachin's mobile phone on May 4, while he was washing a car outside his house. Unaware about their intentions, Sachin went to their house. Apprehensive of being exposed, the accused murdered him, sources said.
