SGPC chief bereaved

Tejinderpal Singh Soni (38), youngest son of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar died on Monday after prolonged illness. Soni was admitted at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
 
Soni was the youngest son of Makkar and has left behind a wife, a son and a daughter. SGPC has expressed grief over the demise of Soni and has expressed solidarity with the family. Raghujit Singh Virk, senior vice president, SGPC said that Soni's death is a shock for SGPC.
 
According to the family sources, the cremation of Tejinderpal Singh Soni would take place on Tuesday at cremation ground, Model Town Extension in Ludhiana at 11am.

Pvt buses fleecing passengers at will.

The passengers travelling in long route luxury private buses are a troubled lot these days as they are being forced to pay the bus fare for the entire journey — from starting point till the destination — no matter if the passenger is travelling for the said distance or not. Worst, the fare can be as high as four times what one pays in a government luxury bus for the same distance.
