Around 100 teachers protest against the Punjab government for the suspension of two teachers and headmistress of Government High School, Sunet, outside the deputy commissioner's office on Monday.

The teachers raised slogans and demanded the government to reinstate the teachers. They also submitted a memorandum to the DC.

Hardev Singh, district committee member of Democratic teachers union, said, "The minor girl had concocted a story of alleged rape and when her parents protested outside the school, the authorities suspended the teachers under pressure. The authorities shouldn't have taken this decision. The new social studies teacher who joined recently in place of the teacher who had got suspended, should be relieved.
