Training session held for tool, knitwear manufacturers

An interaction session for training the city-based industry to attract the defence sector was organised by district industries centre in association with a Chandigarh-based consultancy firm, Global Defence Industries Consultancy Services Limited here on Thursday.
Representatives of different industries, including, auto parts manufacturing industry, hand-tools manufactures and knitwear industry participated in the session in which consultancy firm gave presentations on how to go for becoming a supplier for the Indian defence forces.


Senior industrial promotion officer, SS Rekhi said the session was organised after the consultancy firm approached the department of industries for holding such session in which they would be providing information to industry for attracting defence sector towards their products. Defence sector could be a big future market for the industry and would help reducing country's dependency on importing the equipments.

Chairman of company JS Kalra said the session was organised with a purpose of training the industry to equip them with the knowledge of requirements of defence sector and the procedures to go for becoming a supplier for them.

3 jump across buildings after failing to rob trader
