Social networking websites and mobile chat messengers remained abuzz with activity, as voters remained glued to their mobile phones and laptops for latest counting updates.

The election commission of India also provided every update regarding results from all constituencies of India on its website

"Every update regarding results was being updated on the website of election commission. We were checking the trends of various constituencies of Punjab. Even the voting percentage was being shown on the website. We were also sharing the results of social networking websites while working in office," said Manjit Singh, a city resident.

Satbir Singh, who was waiting for the results outside PAU where counting was being conducted, said, "We were not allowed to go inside. So we were in touch with the supporters through mobile messengers to get required information. Time to time update was also available on website of election commission of India, which is very appreciable."

"Also the mobile messengers were flooded with queries from NRIs as they were demanding updates. The details of counting after every round were being updated by other supporters on WhatsApp or Facebook," he said.
