Luring youth of a suitable job, conman fled with his motorcycle

A swindler conned a youth on the pretext of arranging a job for him and allegedly fled away with his motorcycle.


The Daba police registered a case against the conman under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Wednesday following the complaint of the mother of the victim.

In her complaint, Rita from Ranjit Nagar of Sherpur area said a conman, who introduced himself as Raj, met her son Sooraj Kumar. The accused lured him that he could help get a suitable job to him, and ferried him towards Surjit Nagar in Daba area, she said.

Then, the accused ferried her son to 33 Futta Road, where he asked Sooraj to wait in front of a closed office of a property dealer, said Rita, adding that the accused drove away his motorcycle, saying that he has been going to see the property dealer at his and would be back in two minutes; but he never returned.

After waiting for hours for the accused to return, Sooraj came back to home and narrated the entire episode to his parents.

Head constable Kulwinder Singh at the Daba police station, who has been investigating the matter, said police had initiated investigations and was trying to identify the accused.
