Projecting Luxembourg to be an ideal entry point to European market, Gaston Stronck, Luxembourg ambassador held an interactive session with local industrialists in a program organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Friday.
“Luxembourg can be used as a passport to Europe, you can reach 60% of European Union (EU) Gross Domestic Product (GDP) just by choosing Luxembourg as an entry point, with EU being a single market with 350 million consumers,” Stronk said.
“Luxembourg is equipped with skilled multi-lingual work force making it a natural choice for investors, due to its favourable and legal framework of regulations,” he said.
Stronck said that Luxemborg was leading international financial centre and offered options to invest in in sophisticated investment vehicles, besides being the number one investment fund centre in Europe. Many international bonds were also listed in Europe.
Indicating that the future prospects for trade and investment between countries were significant, Dalip Sharma, regional director, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the inbuilt complimentary of the economies of both Luxembourg and India offers innumerable opportunities and it is important that we build on the existing strong relations.
Opinder Singh, Deputy Director, Engineering Export Promotion Council, while speaking on the occasion, apprised the Luxembourg diplomat about the vast possibilities of investment here in Jalandhar and invited him to invest in this part of India. He said industry has a great scope to tie up and synergise with Luxemberg.
More than 50 industrialists were present on this occasion.
