A team of vigilance andanti-corruption bureau of Himachal on Tuesday inspected the upcoming luxury housing project near Bemloe in outskirts of Shimla being developed by Bemloe Development and Infrastructure Company, facing allegations of violations and irregularities for getting clearances for the project.
A case was registered against the promoters under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC and Section 33 of the Indian Forest Act last year and the Vigilance bureau is expected to file the challan in the court shortly.
Officials of state revenue department accompanied the vigilance bureau team and inspected the site to ensure that the constructions had been done as per approved plans without any deviation or violation and no land was encroached upon, vigilance Bureau sources said.
He said the entire land, which was currently under the possession of the builder, was measured and standing trees counted.
The ruling Congress, when in opposition, had demanded investigations into alleged irregularities when the project was cleared in a haste by the then BJP government.
The builder is constructing the apartments in the green belt of Kanlogh?area under the name Samatara apartments.
"It has been revealed during the preliminary inquiry that a forged?application and false documents were prepared to cheat the government?and to give wrongful gain to Bemloe Development and wrongful loss to?the government by hatching a criminal conspiracy," a vigilance?statement had said.
The ruling Congress party has demanded scrapping of the project and alleged that the project was coming up in thickly forested areas and several trees had been cut. However the builder has denied the allegations.
