Mahendergarh: College girl shot dead by jilted lover, accused absconding
A BSc second year student, identified as Sarita, was shot dead by a youth on the campus of PKSD College in Kanina town of Mahendergarh district on Monday.
A BSc second year student, identified as Sarita, was shot dead by a youth on the campus of PKSD College in Kanina town of Mahendergarh district on Monday.
The girl, a resident of Buchawas village in the district, was scheduled to get married on May 30.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Kanina station house officer (SHO) Rajender Singh said, “Accused Ravinder, who fired at the the girl, killing her on the spot, is also a resident of the Buchawas village”.
As per preliminary investigations by the police, the accused wanted to marry the girl and he was not happy over her proposed marriage with someone else, he said.
The accused attacked the girl when she came to the college for appearing in her examination on Monday, he added.
The accused has been booked on the charge of murder (section 302 of IPC) and the police have started the investigation to arrest the accused, who is absconding, added the SHO.
