Main accused in ex-MLA Malkit Singh Keetu's murder arrested

Police today arrested the main accused in the murder case of former Punjab MLA Malkit Singh Keetu, who was gunned down by his nephews last month.

Police arrested the main accused in the murder of former Punjab MLA Malkit Singh Keetu on Wednesday. He was gunned down by his nephews in October.

Moga SSP Surjit Singh Grewal said Harpreet Singh Grewal, son of Keetu's brother, was arrested during a security check near Bilaspur village on Wednesday morning when he was coming from Barnala.

A rifle used in the crime was also recovered from him, the SSP added. Another accused, Harpal Singh, also surrendered before the police on Wednesday.

Earlier, police had nabbed Harpreet's brother Gurpreet Singh, and another accused Kulwant Singh on November 6 from Badhi Kalan.

Former Barnala MLA and SAD leader Keetu was shot dead on October 29 near the entrance of his house at his native village: Bilaspur, by five persons including three of his nephews. One of the three nephews is still at large.
