Accusing Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party leaders for misleading people of the state in the name of development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chotepur said the party's main objective was to make the state free from of the Badals, and the party was working hard to achieve this target in the next assembly elections.

Addressing the media, he said the leaders of the ruling parties never came back to the people after taking their votes.

"The educated youth is suffering the most, as there is hardly any development and employment in the state," said Chotepur.

Addressing a small gathering of party workers he said the Punjab unit of the party was holding several meetings to form a new body having already completed meetings in eight districts. The remaining districts would be covered before Diwali. He said the party would also form separate units for youths, students, farmers and traders.

Addressing workers, AAP Member of Parliament from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann said the deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had not taken strict action to check corruption in the state. Mann announced that he would use his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme funds towards development of villages in his constituency.
