Major General killed in golf course mishap in Chandimandir military station

Maj Gen Gupta was rushed to the Command Hospital with head injuries, but could not be revived. The police have ruled out any foul play.

Major General Sanjeev Harbans Gupta, 58, commandant of Western Command Military Dental Centre, died on Sunday after suffering grievous injuries in the Chandimandir military station on Sunday.

According to the Panchkula Police, Gupta fell off a golf cart while passing over a bridge across a drain at the golf park at the Chandimandir Military Station.

He was rushed to the Command Hospital with head injuries, but could not be revived. The police have ruled out any foul play.

Born on March 13, 1959, he was commissioned into the Army Dental Corps in September, 1981. A senior dental officer, he had an outstanding career. Western Army Commander Lt General Surinder Singh expressed condolences.

He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
