Ahead of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally in Majitha on Wednesday in which the party will announce its candidate from the constituency against revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia, the minister challenged AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal to contest against him rather than finding a ‘scapegoat’.

The minister, who was talking to mediapersons after inaugurating a skill development centre in the constituency said, “I challenge Kejriwal to contest from Majitha and he will come to know about his popularity. AAP is trying to bring in crowds from all over Punjab for the rally and this clearly shows that AAP has no faith in people of Majitha.”

“I would say that rather than looking for scapegoats, Kejriwal must raise his hand and accept the challenge,” he added.

The minister further said that Kejriwal is day dreaming of gaining power in Punjab with fake promises as he did in Delhi. He said that Kejriwal is now exposed on various fronts for his lies and promising moon to the people.

Majithia said that AAP, which was formed on the basis of ethics and principles, adopted all unethical means in ticket allotment ignoring even their volunteers.

The minister said that founders of AAP who talked of principles and ethics have been shown the door and now few people are being given free hand to exploit the Punjabi people.

He said that Kejriwal is defaming Punjabi youth by labelling them as drug addicts just for his ‘petty political interests’. He said that opposition parties are indulged in false propaganda of defaming Punjabis where as the results of dope test during police recruitment and surveys done by renowned institutes have exposed the opponents.

Anyone who contests from AAP will win from Majitha: Shergill

Since the AAP is gearing up for a rally in Majitha on Wednesday, AAP leader Himmat Singh Shergill who is tipped to be the party candidate against the minister said that any AAP leader who contests from Majitha will win.

Though Shergill is camping in Majitha segment since past few days, he did not admit to his candidature and said that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will announce the candidate during the rally on Wednesday.
