On Baisakhi, revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Saturday asked workers of his Youth Akali Dal (YAD) to mobilise young voters to rout the Congress in the next Lok Sabha elections.
The YAD workers had gathered in big numbers at various places on way to Talwandi Sabo to greet Majithia. At Talwandi Sabo, Majithia said the countdown to the end of the Congress had begun. Crowds of young people cheered his arrival at Maur Mandi Chowk, Kot Shamir, Bhagi Bandar, and Talwandi Sabo.
Chatting with the media in Bathinda, Majithia said the Congress would face a crushing defeat in the parliamentary elections for shutting its eyes to the the interests of common man.
"It will pay for rampant corruption over two consecutive terms," said the state revenue minister, asking the YAD workers to reach out to young voters and play up all the failures of the union government and tell the masses in Punjab about the development initiatives of the state government.
