Welcoming the elevation of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as NDA's prime ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha elections, 2014, state revenue and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia has termed Modi as 'the right choice' on the grounds that Modi has to his credit a 'proven track record' of propelling remarkable development.

Majithia added that at a time when the nation is facing an economic crisis, rupee is depreciating, the industry is hesitant to make investments and the common man is reeling under the impact of inflation, the need of the hour is to bring to the fore someone who can put things back on track. "Modi is the right man for this purpose," he said.

Majithia said having borne the brunt of the follies of the Congress for 10 years, the nation now desperately seeks a change. "The NDA is bound to emerge victorious in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls," he averred. He further said the SAD will extend unconditional support to Modi and the NDA.

Welcoming yet another proclamation, Majithia said the death penalty awarded to the four accused in the December 16 gangrape case by the Delhi fast-track court is 'justice delivered'. He said the perpetrators of such horrid crimes deserved nothing less than death penalty.

"This exemplary punishment has sent across the message that there would be no tolerance towards crimes against women and it will definitely act as a deterrent towards gruesome crime against women," said the revenue minister.
