A 33-year-old man was shot dead in Manila, Philippines on Tuesday. However, the police are yet to investigate the motive behind the killing.

The deceased was identified as Bhinder Singh Grewal, 33, son of late Ujagr Singh. “Bhinder shifted from Adampal village to Manila eight months ago,” said a villager.

Bhinder is survived by two elder brothers in the village.

Meanwhile, Bhinder’s cousin Balvir Singh said a colleague of the Bhinder informed them about his death. “Like any other day, he was on work with his colleague and went to receive payment from a customer. While, Bhinder’s colleague went inside a customer’s apartment to get the payment, Bhinder was waiting outside. Meanwhile, two masked men came on a bike and fired two bullets at Bhinder and ran away, both bullets hit his stomach, following which Bhinder fell from his bike. Seeing Bhinder breathing heavily, the shooters came back and shot him again on his chest,” said Balvir, adding that he died on the spot. He said before his colleague could take him to a hospital, Bhinder was already dead. “The postmortem has not yet been done,” added Balvir.

Bhinder had sold his land and used to work in a private factory in Malerkotla with his brothers. However, owing to financial crisis, he moved to the Philippines for better future.
