Man abducts cousin's wife on pretext of marriage, rapes her

A man abducted his sister-in-law (cousin's wife) on pretext of marriage and raped her. The accused ferried her to Panipat and after spending some days with her, the accused left her in the house of his aunt and fled.

The woman, who is a resident of the New Nandpuri area has lodged a complaint against the accused in this context at the Basti Jodhewal police station on Monday. The police have also booked his father and two sisters for helping him in the crime.

The 25-years-old woman got married in 2009 and has a daughter from the marriage. In her complaint, the woman stated that Deepak of the Bahadurke road, who is a cousin brother of her husband, used to come to their house, frequently. Deepak, who is also married, had lured her that he was a rich man and he wanted to marry her.
The woman alleged that on December 24, the accused had abducted her on the pretext of marriage and has taken her to a room at the Bahadurke road, where the accused raped her. After this, the accused had ferried her to Panipat where he established physical relations with her.

After spending some days with her, the accused left her at his aunt's house in Panipat and fled. She has informed her husband and father-in-law about it who brought her back. After coming back, she had lodged a complaint against the accused.
The police have booked Deepak under Section 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her mar­riage), 376 (rape) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. The police have also booked Deepak's father Janakraj and his two sisters Ritu and Jyoti for helping the accused in committing the crime.

ASI Pramod Raj, who is investigating the matter, said the family of woman has filed a missing report with the Basti Jodhewal police station on December 25. In the report, the family had suspected that she had eloped. The ASI said the police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
