In yet another incident, a resident of Janta Nagar raped his two minor stepdaughters for months and threatened them not to reveal the incident to their mother.

However, when the victims' mother came to know about it, she lodged a complaint in the matter.

The Shimlapuri Police have registered a case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian penal code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

In her complaint, the woman stated that after the death of her first husband she married the accused around 14 years ago. She has two daughters, one 15-year-old and other 17-year-old, her first marriage.

The woman added that she was unaware that the accused had an evil eye on her daughters. She came to know about it when her daughters revealed the matter to her. The girls told her that the accused had been raping them for the past six months.

Inspector Raj Kumar, Shimlapuri station house officer, said the police arrested the accused immediately after registering the case. The accused was produced in the court on Sunday and had been remanded to two days in police custody.

This is the third case in one week where a man has sexually exploited his stepdaughter.
