Man booked for grabbing NRI friend's 300 gm gold, 500 gm silver

The Division Number 5 police booked a man for grabbing around 300 gm gold and half kg silver of his NRI friend, who had handed over the gold and silver to him before going abroad.

The accused has been identified as Sudarshan Kumar of Madhopuri.

In his complaint, NRI Jatinder Singh of Madhopuri stated that he had gone to London on March 2012. He alleged that before going he had handed over gold and silver to his friend and neighbour Sudarshan Kumar in presence of other friends Dilpreet Singh and Dyal Singh.

He further alleged that after returning back on November 2013 when he asked Kumar to return the gold and silver, he denied. Following that he had filed a complaint with police commissioner on December 31, 2013. After investigating the matter for at least eight months, the police have registered the case.

A case under section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused in this context.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Paramjit Singh, who is investigating the matter, said the police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
