Man booked for morphing teen’s pictures, blackmailing her

Police have registered a case of blackmailing and morphing photographs of an 18-yearold girl against Manpreet Singh, a resident of Nanak Nagar of Salem Tabri.

The victim, a resident of Bhagwan Das Colony of Neta Ji Nagar, had filed a complaint with the police commissioner in this context, who marked an inquiry to the additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), city-1, and assistant commissioner of police (ACP), north. After conducting an inquiry into the matter, the officers recommended FIR against the accused.

In her complaint, the victim had alleged that the accused used to harass her. He had morphed her photographs and had sent them to her and threatened to establish physical relations with him or else he would post the photographs on social networking sites. He had also threatened of circulating the photographs through mobile messaging application ‘WhatsApp’.

Inspector Kewal Krishan said the case was registered following an inquiry and the police have launched a manhunt for the arrest the accused.
