Man booked for raping daughter-in-law

The local police has booked a man for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law.

The woman, a resident of Sahnewal, had complained to Khanna police against her father-in-law Nahar Singh and alleged that he raped her.

After receiving the complaint, an inquiry was conducted into the matter post which a case was registered on Tuesday in Khanna police station against Nahar Singh under section 376 of the IPC.

Khanna DSP Prithipal Singh said after preliminary inquiry a case has been registered against Singh and police is thoroughly investigating the case.

In her complaint to the police, the woman had stated that she was married to son of the accused in 2000 and her husband had gone abroad in 2006. She alleged that her father-in-law raped her when her mother-in-law was not present in the house.
