Man booked for raping teen repeatedly for 8 months

The Salem Tabri police booked a man for raping a minor girl, a 16-year-old Class 9 student, on Monday. The accused is married and was raping the victim from past eight months on the pretext of marriage.

The accused has been identified as Yusuf Masih of Miyonwal village. In her complaint, the victim, who is a Chhawni Mohalla resident, said she had come in contact with the accused and was befriended by him.

The victim said, "When I was alone, the accused came to her home and raped her around eight months back. Following which, the accused had raped her several times on the pretext of marriage."

ASI Jaswinder Kaur, who is investigating the matter, said the girl had made a complaint on Monday, following which the police had registered a case. The ASI said the police had launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
