Man booked for raping woman for six months

The city police have booked a resident of Mohalla Guru Gobind Singh Nagar for allegedly raping a woman of his area for the past six months.


His three accomplices, including a woman, have also been booked for helping him commit the crime.
The main accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, while his aides are Sodhi, Lada and his wife, Poonam.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that the accused had been raping her for the past six months. On July 31 too, Gagandeep came to her house and outraged her modesty, she alleged.

The victim alleged that every time Gagandeep used to rape her, Poonam used to offer her emergency contraceptive pills.

Sub-inspector (SI) Kamal Dutt of Daba police station, said a case had been registered against the accused under sections 376 (rape), 313 (causing miscarriage), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. The police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
