In his complaint to police, Jai Ram, a resident of Ferozepur, said he had gone to Chandigarh to drop the daughter of his employer, Ashwani Kumar, in his Swift Dzire car on Tuesday.

He was returning back to Ferozepur late at night, when he stopped his car at a petrol pump near Gahaur village to answer the nature's call. In the meantime, four persons in a Maruti Zen car approached him and asked for directions to Dharamkot.

“When I started to give them directions, two men stepped out of the Zen car and forcibly pushed me inside my car, before driving it towards Ferozepur,” he further alleged.

However, the duo threw him out of the car a few miles later and fled in the car, Ram added.

Mullanpur station house officer (SHO) inspector Harbhajan Singh said following Ram's complaint, a case was registered against the four unidentified persons and investigation had been initiated in the case.

It is pertinent to mention here that the stretch from Ludhiana to Ferozepur has become a safe haven for criminals, as many incidents of loot and snatching have been reported from here. But the police have failed to crack even a single case.
