A man, identified as Seera Singh (36), a resident of Saleem Khera, Dabwali, Sirsa, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at a public park in East Mohan Nagar on Sunday.

As per police, the victim has left a suicide note behind in which "he has held himself responsible for the extreme action".

Police said the victim, who worked as a labourer, was living in a rented accommodation at East Mohan Nagar for the past few years and took the extreme step on Sunday morning.

The body was noticed by some visitors to the park, who sounded police immediately.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Vijay Pal, who is investigating into the case, said, in the suicide note recovered from him, that he himself was responsible for taking his own life. "Hence, as of now no one else can be held responsible in this connection. However, investigations are being held into the matter," he said.

A case has been registered under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
