A tyre tube manufacturer and his daughter have been booked for duping an industrialist of Rs 53.5 lakh.

The industrialist has lodged a complaint against the accused at police division number 5 in this context on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Gurdial Singh, owner of KE Enterprises, and his daughter, Dilpreet Kaur, both residents of Dugri.

In his complaint Kuldeep Singh, owner of rubber factory KS Rubbers, Link Road, Industrial Area, and resident of Model Gram, submitted that he had supplied rubber worth Rs 43.5 lakh to Gurdial Singh.

Eventually, Gurdial offered to import rubber for him from China for cheaper rates, and asked him to invest Rs 10 lakh.

Kuldeep alleged that though he gave Gurdial Rs 10 lakh, the latter neither got him the rubber stock neither returned his money.

When he approached Gurdial, he gave him a cold shoulder.

He then approached the police commissioner and filed a complaint on October 7. The police chief had marked an inquiry to ADCP city-3 Paramjeet Singh Pannu, who after an inquiry ordered registration of a case.

Inspector Beant Juneja, SHO, Division Number 5 police station, said the accused had closed down his factory around three months ago and fled. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the father-daughter duo.
