Relatives also claimed that the man was first shifted to Kapoor hospital and then to Apollo hospital, “which raises questions over the death”, they alleged. The Basti Jodhewal police went to the hosiery unit and investigated the matter.

Inspector Balwinder Singh, after investigating came to the conclusion that the roof of the fourth floor, where Gupta was working alone, collapsed as it was fixed temporarily and since it rained heavily on Tuesday, it could not bear the weight and when water accumulated it fell down.

“The roof was made of tin and was fixed temporarily. It rained heavily on Tuesday following which it collapsed on Inderjit, as it could not bear the weight, due to which he apparently died,” Balwinder said.

Meanwhile, factory owner and family of Inderjit reached a compromise on Wednesday and decided that no FIR would be registered in the case.
