Man gets 20-year-jail term for raping 4-year-old
A 29-year-old man on Monday was awarded 20 years’ imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a four-year-old girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2.08 lakh on the accused, identified as Shankar Singh, a resident of Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.

Shankar was arrested on December 8 last year on the complaint of the mother of the victim, a resident of Kishangarh.
As per the complaint, on the aforesaid date, mother of the victim left her daughter on the terrace of her house after giving her a bath. She claimed that when she returned after ten minutes, she didn’t find her daughter. During their search, they saw the accused carrying their daughter in his arms on Saketri Road.
Since her daughter was crying and bleeding profusely, she informed the police, following which medical examination of the victim was done at the Manimajra civil hospital. The autopsy report confirmed rape, after which accused was booked and arrested for kidnapping and raping the minor.
