The local police have recovered a 15-year-old girl with his alleged abductors from New Delhi railway station on Friday.
The girl, a Class-9 student, was kidnapped from Noorpur Hakiman village under the Dharamkot police station in Moga while she was on way to school, recently.
The arrested accused, Palwinder Singh, a resident of Maujgarh, was produced in a court and has been remanded in police custody for two days.
The victim's father had complained to the police that Palwinder Singh had abducted the girl on the pretext of marriage. "Both stole Rs 70,000 and 2-gram gold ornaments from my home," said the complainant.
SSP Kamaljeet Singh Dhillon said: "After receiving a complaint, the police barricaded the main and link roads of the district, but we failed to nab the culprit. The call details of the accused were then tracked and finally they were nabbed from Delhi."
Four people including Palwinder Singh's mother and father had been booked under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (compelling women to marriage), 354 (assaulting or using criminal force on woman), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (act done by several people in furtherance of common intention) in this connection.
The girl was brought to Dr Mathura Dass civil hospital for her medical examination.
"We are awaiting the medical report. No arrests have been made so far," said an official.
