A man has been arrested for raping 17-year-old girl on Sunday morning at Misharpura village under Ranger Nangal police station.

In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that on Sunday morning around 5 am, when her mother and elder sister had gone to a gurdwara, her neighbour Ranjeet Singh entered her house and forcibly took her into a room and raped her.

Listening to her screams, her handicapped brother rushed to the spot, but was not able to open the door. Threatening her of dire consequences, the accused later fled from her house.

After conducting the medical examination of the victim, the Ranger Nangal police registered a case under sections 452, 376 of the IPC and section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act 2012 against Ranjeet Singh and arrested him.
