Police have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl in the industrial township Baddi.

Police said the accused Mukesh, resident of Sarheli in Madhya Pradesh, on Friday allegedly lured the victim, a Class-5 student of a local private school, when she was returning to her makeshift hut near the timber depot at Baddi, and took her to Haripur village.

The accused dumped the victim's bag near the timber depot before kidnapping her. He confined her in a room at Haripur, where he allegedly raped her.

On Sunday night, he brought the victim, daughter of a migrant labourer, to Baddi, and fled after dropping her near her hut.

On Monday, police nabbed the accused at Dharampur and registered a case. He would be produced in court on Tuesday.
