Man held for throwing acid on wife, daughter

The Rohtak police have arrested a man for throwing acid on his wife and a seven-year-old daughter in Kamala Nagar area of the city.

The accused has been identified as Vishavjeet, who hails from Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh and is living in a rented house in Kamla Nagar.

According to the police, the accused had a dispute with his wife Sadhna and he threw acid on her and his daughter Bholi at their residence on Friday evening.

Soon after the incident, the victims were rushed to PGIMS Rohtak with 30% burns. Their condition is reported to be stable. The police have booked the accused under section 326 A of the IPC, police said.

Vishavjeet has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a local court on Saturday, they added.
