Man held with narcotic powder

The Mattewara police arrested a man for drug peddling and recovered 70 gm narcotic powder from his possession on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Kewal Chand of Chaunta village.

Sub-inpsector (SI) Paramdeep Singh, incharge of Mattewara police post said the accused was arrested from Kalewal village following a tip-off.

According to the SI, the police got information that the accused was coming to Kalewal village from Dholewal to supply drugs. "The police held a check point near Kalewal village and arrested the accused who was carrying 70 gm narcotic powder," the police said.

The accused is being questioned to ascertain where he got the drugs from.
