Man held with stolen cloths, auto seized

Jamalpur police on Saturday arrested a member of a gang involved in stealing cloths from factories.

Accused, Angrej Singh, was arrested after the police recovered stolen cloths from his the possession which he was carrying in a pick-up auto.
The police also confiscated the auto.

A case under sections 379 (theft) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused.
The police have also booked Angrej's accomplices Karan Sharma, Ramesh Kumar, Balwinder Singh and Pardeep Kumar of Mundian Khurd.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sanjiv Kumar from Jamalpur police station said the police had arrested the accused from Mundian Kalan following a tip-off. The accused had told to police that they stole the cloths from a factory a few days ago.

The ASI said the cost of the recovered cloths was around `1.4 lakh and the police have launched a manhunt to arrest other members of the gang.
