Two motorcycle-borne men shot at a man, resulting in two bullet injuries in his legs, near the banquet hall Sangam Palace in Haibowal locality around 10 pm on Saturday and fled. Police suspect gangster Gaurav Sharma alias Goru Bachcha’s involvement because the victim, contracter Vijay Ghugga, is said to have had an altercation with one of Bachcha’s aides three months ago.

The gangster had allegedly threatened the victim, who was taken to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he was stated to be out of danger, with dire consequences after Ghugga got into an altercation with his aide over allotment of a parking lot contract. The assailants attacked Ghugga when he, with a friend, got off their SUV to urinate on the roadside.

Bachcha is wanted for murder of a three-wheeler driver Vikrant Kumar, besides other cases.
