Inderjeet Singh of Sukhan Wala village allegedly slapped a woman teacher of the government high school in the school premises on Thursday. The police have arrested him after registering a case. The incident took place after the examination of students from classes 6 to 9 was over.

The niece of Inderjeet Singh is a Class-9 student of the government high school in Sukhan Wala village and the teacher had allegedly chided the girl over cheating in the examinations.

When the girl went home after the examination, her uncle, enraged over the incident, entered the school and, all of a sudden, slapped teacher Sushil Kumari, sitting on a chair. She is a Hindi teacher in the school.
Baffled by the slapping by the man, the teacher fell from her chair and became unconscious and had to be rushed to the hospital.

District education officer Sukhchain Singh Gill said that he had got a complaint from the head of the school and he has written to the SSP, Faridkot, to take strict action against the accused. “It is a very serious incident. If the man had any complaint regarding the teacher, he could have approached the head teacher of the school, but slapping a teacher is very unfortunate,” he added.
