A 40-year-old man from Model Town Ludhiana tested positive for swine flu on Sunday. The patient is undergoing treatment at Post Graduation Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
District epidemiologist Dr Anil Verma said pamphlets are being distributed in public places for swine flu awareness among masses. Besides, boards are also displayed on railway station, bus stands, hospitals and religious places so that people should know the preventive measures for swine flu.
He said a total of 43 cases of swine flu have been reported from Ludhiana hospitals till now, which include 18 patients from Ludhiana and 25 from other districts of the Punjab.
