Preparations for the five-day annual Manali Winter Carnival are in full swing, with the town's administration and the carnival's organising committee making all-out efforts to ensure that it is a success.
Manali sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Viney Dhiman, also the chairman of the organising committee, said the carnival would begin on January 2 at Manu Rangshala here. He said that the Winter Queen pageant would be the most anticipated at the fair. “A special cultural troupe from Sri Lanka will also perform at the carnival,” Dhiman said.
Throughout the five-day festival, a rock band will perform every day on the Mall Road, where two stages will be set up.
“Singing competitions will be held on the basis of the selection of singers made through audition,” Dhiman added.
