Manish Tiwari asks most questions in Parliament among Punjab MPs

Fatehgarh Sahib MP Sukhdev Singh Libra has topped among members of Parliament from Punjab as far as attendance in the 15th Lok Sabha is concerned. Ludhiana's Manish Tiwari has asked the maximum questions in Parliament among state MPs so far in the first three years of this Lok Sabha.

Information provided by PRS Legislative Research, a Delhi-based NGO working in the field of policy research, reveals that Congress MP Libra has an attendance of 98%. Libra was the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP from Ropar in the 14th Lok Sabha, but he later joined the Congress. He defeated SAD candidate and former Lok Sabha deputy speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Fatehgarh Sahib.

As far as participation in debates and asking questions in the Lok Sabha is concerned, Tiwari participated in 36 debates and asked 283 questions, while Rattan Singh Ajnala took part in 36 debates and asked 111 questions.

The following are the figures for the other MPs: Partap Singh Bajwa (34 debates, 267 questions), Vijay Inder Singla (two debates, nine questions), Mohinder Singh Kaypee (eight debates, four questions), Harsimrat Kaur Badal (20 debates, 190 questions), Paramjit Kaur Gulshan (21 debates, 61 questions), Navjot Singh Sidhu (three debates, 99 questions), Ravneet Singh Bittu (11 debates, 260 questions), Sukhdev Singh Libra (eight debates, 81 questions), Sher Singh Ghubaya (10 debates, 38 questions). Hoshiarpur MP Santosh Chowdhary did not ask any question but participated in 33 debates.
