Following the complaints against various hospitals, the municipal corporation (MC) conducted a survey to check parking arrangements at the hospitals running under Zone D on Saturday. The team found violations in majority of the hospitals against which a complaint was received.
The complaint was given by a city-based RTI activist against 42 hospitals in January, this year, stating that the hospitals have allegedly failed to make parking arrangements.
The recent survey revealed that many of the hospitals were using the parking space for commercial activities, while the visitors used to park vehicles along roadsides, thus leading to traffic snarls. The MC teams also found that some hospitals had not kept any reserved place for parking, while a few hospitals have made parking arrangements at the nearby plots.
A city-based RTI activist, Rohit Sabharwal, claimed that these hospitals were running without providing any parking facility to the visitors. He said MC should take action against these hospitals as per law.
Assistant town planner (ATP) Monika Anand said, "The building inspectors conducted a survey. Now, we will present the details before higher authorities. The notices will be sent to the violators."
