The municipal corporation bagged a hefty deal of Rs 15 crore by selling nine shop-cum-offices (SCO) on Wednesday.
There were a total of 30 SCOs of 100 sq yards each adjoining Keys Hotel, out of which 21 were auctioned on November 26. The remaining nine were auctioned for nearly Rs 15 crore on Wednesday.
The maximum price that was bagged by the MC for one SCO was Rs 1.96 lakh per square yard and the minimum price was Rs 1.78 lakh per sq yard.
Assistant town planner (ATP) of Zone D Surinder Bindra said a total of nine SCOs were sold in the auction. "The MC earned a total of nearly Rs 15 crore from the auction," Bindra added.
Thirty-nine bidders took part in the auction. On November 26, only nine bidders had come for the auction of 30 SCOs. The maximum price that the MC was able to fetch for the 21 SCOs last time was Rs 1.62 lakh per square yard and minimum price was Rs 1.50 lakh per square yard.
On December 24, the MC had auctioned a residential land of 9820 sq yard on the Hambran road near the dairy complex. The land was sold at a price of Rs 10,700 per sq yard.
